Location: Kewstoke

We are seeking Staff Grade Psychiatrists as part of an excellent Mental Health Service. 4-day sessions available in a Tier 4 Female Personality Disorder ward. Candidates with experience in women’s services will be ideal, however others are welcome to apply. You will need to be able to showcase your recent clinical work in Psychiatry.

Our client is a leading provider of inpatient mental health and LD services, delivering care across their network of 100+ hospitals – all of which have a Good or Outstanding CQC rating.

Services offered within the Hospital ward:

The ward is a 16 bed highly specialised personality disorder service. The service provides a communicative method and a wide-ranging Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) program focused on simplification of skills. The service is for people with key diagnosis of personality disorder and a secondary diagnosis of autism or eating disorder. All aspects will be treated simultaneously at the service with the suitable expert therapeutic input provided.

All associates of the multidisciplinary team are thoroughly trained in DBT, this includes members of the nursing team being DBT therapists or DBT essentials trained. The team comprise of a ward manager, consultant psychiatrist, psychologist, occupational therapist, support workers and social workers.

Service User Profile:

Women, aged 18+

Primary diagnosis of emotionally unstable personality disorder (other types will be considered)

Requiring assessment and treatment in a secure environment

Secondary diagnosis of disordered eating or autism

May have co-morbid diagnoses including depressive disorder or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

May exhibit behaviours including self-harm, suicidal thoughts/acts, self-neglect, interpersonal difficulties, substance misuse or fire-setting
